The Year Ahead
Happy Sunday!
I’ve spent this past week in Massachusetts for work, and although I love traveling, it never is the same without Yair. Taking this trip alone gave me a ton of time to think. Think of my accomplishments this past year, think about what I’ve put on the backburner, think of new goals … and reflect on life in general.
Ending 2018 and coming into the New Year, I had this plan to set key goals and with the mindset to get sh*t done. I have done this in the past… I make a list of everything I want to do… time passes and when I look back I am asking myself, “Well, what did I get done?” The answer typically ends up being disappointing, with only a few accomplishments checked off. Looking back now, I realize I get stuck in this cycle of overcommitting; wearing myself out and then I end up being tired and lose focus. Then there are those distractions that I could have said no to, as well. It’s a vicious cycle. NOT recommended.
That said, I look forward to a much more organized year. Balanced, focused, and healthy. For some time now, Yair and I have discussed creating a vision board but have not gotten around to actually getting it done. So here is to getting started! We have a chalkboard up in the office that we plan on using and have drafted a list of goals for this year, below.
Goals for 2019:
· De-clutter and incorporate minimalism
· Spend more time with family
· Read more!! (mostly Rene)
· Learn how to use drafting tools for interior design
· Create and fulfill design for our Master Bathroom
· Re-design guest room (we’ve got some exciting guests coming!)
· Re-design office space (mostly get Yair a desk!)
· Organize the dreaded garage (Out of sight, out of mind, right?)
· Maintain healthier lifestyles: exercise and eat well!
· Travel more
· Enjoy the little things…
What are you aiming to accomplish in 2019? Do you have a vision board or other method of keeping your ambitions in scope?
